About DTC-BPW

DTC/BPW is part of a statewide organization (BPW/Colorado) of women and men dedicated to their mission of promoting full participation, equity and economic self-sufficiency for Colorado’s working women. BPW/Colorado members exist in over thirty communities across Colorado, each with its own unique agenda, but all with the same objectives. We achieve those objectives through involvement in political and legislative issues, community outreach, and personal and professional development. As a part of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW/USA), an organization founded in 1919, BPW/Colorado has also participated in a variety of issues affecting working women at a national level.

Through active participation in the local organization, BPW members can effect change in their communities and in the workplace, while adding their voices to issues at both the state and national levels. The objectives of BPW are simplistic, yet very powerful and significant:

To elevate the standards of women in business and the professions;
To promote the interest of business and professional women;
To bring about a spirit of cooperation among the business and professional women of theUnited States;
To extend opportunities to business and professional women through education along the lines of industrial, scientific, and vocational activities.

Meeting on a monthly basis, DTC/BPW has continuing programs that address the needs of working women, whether they are starting a career, making a career change, or planning retirement. In addition to programs held at regular meetings, DTC/BPW also participates in several programs held throughout the year for individual development and to honor those within and outside BPW/Colorado who have contributed significantly to the development, promotion and support of business and professional women. These programs include:

Individual Development

This self-confidence building program for women of all ages refines skills in effective communication, networking negotiation, interviewing, effective leadership and working with the media.

Young Careerist

Young individuals on a fast track can polish their interviewing, legislative knowledge and public speaking skills through competition.

DTC BPW Business Woman of the Year

Each year outstanding women are honored at an annual awards ceremony, Celebration of Women, usually at our May meeting. Help us honor Business Woman of the Year and Community Leader of the Year.
